MLB Suspensions Preview

In what will be the highlight of mine and everybody else's week, the big MLB suspensions are about to be announced. They were supposed to be announced today, but at this time at 8:45 PM, they have not took place. That is mainly due to arguments about a settlement between Alex Rodriguez and MLB. Major League Baseball and Rodriguez's representatives have talked about a possible settlement, but Rodriguez's side has not deemed anything palatable. So the new goal is to have these suspensions crack down by Monday. Luckily, due to the power and sneakiness of the media, we already know the players that will most likely be suspended. Lets take a look at each player on the Big List individually.

First, A-Rod himself. We all know A-Rod's downfall the past several years. From the PED admission in 2009, to the playoff debacle last year, to now, Alexander has lost the respect of everyone in the USA. And at the age of 38, the end of his career was dawning either way. The media is hyping up this suspension, however, because this is Alex Rodriguez. Whatever he does will be closely examined. Hopefully, his time in the news will soon be over.

Nelson Cruz: Wow, I'd say he is still kicking himself for not catching that ball in the 2011 World Series.... Now it look like the late stages of his career will be derailed by a suspension. What a killer this will be for the Rangers to lose Cruz. Their offense already has been struggling.

Jhonny Peralta: In the midst of the second best year in his career (Hint-Hint....), Peralta is going to be suspended. After spending a time with the Indians in the beginning of his career, Peralta came to the Tigers in 2010, becoming a huge cog in their offense. His loss this year will be exceptionally hurtful during the stretch run for the Tigers, as the Indians and Royals are flying up to meet Detroit in the standings.

Everth Cabrera: Ever heard of this guy? You should look him up. He's only 26 years old, led the NL in steals last year, and was an all-star this year. Integral key in the Padres lineup. And it was all a fluke. He will be suspended, with the Pads losing arguably their best player.

Francisco Cervelli: The catcher with Italian roots was to be the starting catcher for the Yanks this year. A fractured right hand ended that hope. So even if he's suspended, this season was a lost cause for him anyway.

Jesus Montero: Remember when the Yankees traded him to the Mariners and he was the most hyped player in the game that the time?? He had a pretty good 2012 too. Well, he's fallen off the radar ever since. He had a TERRIBLE start to this year, deciding to try to use (wait for it) PEDs to get himself out of his slump. He will be suspended.

Fernando Martinez: Although he is still young, Martinez has had a rough go of it in the big leagues. He is with his 3rd team in 3 years. Just traded to the Yankees, Martinez is possibly about to be suspended for PEDs.

Cesar Puello: Puello, a 22 year old outfielder who is expected to be a major piece in the Mets lineup in a few years, is possibly going to be suspended.

Although they were originally thought to be on the Big List, Bartolo Colon, Melky Cabrera, Yasmani Grandal, and Gio Gonzalez are now reported to be not. But who knows what big names are going to be suspended that the media hasn't found out about yet!!!!!! This will be a big day in MLB history, there is no doubt about that.
